The pre-registration period for the 2025-2026 Mater's academic year will remain open from the 13th of January to the 1st of September 2025, or until the available places are exhausted. This year will be the 12th edition of the official Master's degree in Translational Biomedical Research, which has already consolidated itself as one of the benchmarks in health research in Spain, the 2nd edition of the Master's in Continuing Education in Clinical Trials Management and Coordination, and the 1st for the Master's degree in Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship, all taught by the VHIR as a center affiliated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Master's Degree in Translational Biomedical Research

More than 450 students interested in acquiring knowledge and skills that allow them to dedicate themselves to research aimed at finding solutions to people's health problems have already passed the Master's in Translational Biomedical Research.

The Master's is oriented towards the research career, gives access to the doctoral program and offers students the possibility to choose the area of ​​biomedicine in which they want to specialize and develop their training. The most distinctive feature of this master's degree is that it is taught in its entirety in a third-level Health Research Institute, with a teaching staff made up of basic, clinical and medical researchers who are in constant contact with hospital patients. During the year 2024, the Master has renewed the favorable accreditation of the University Quality Agency (AQU), revalidating the verification of the qualification and the concession to continue teaching the studies in the next six years.

In the center's evaluation report, the AQU's External Evaluation Committee wanted to positively highlight, as the main strengths of the degree: the research excellence of the professors who teach the degree, as well as the groups that welcome the students in the external practices and TFM; the work developed by the Teaching Unit and the provision of resources, as well as the continued training of technical and management personnel and administration and services; and the structuring of the Tutorial Action Plan and its effective deployment, which includes personalized tutoring for students throughout the course, mainly in practicals and the TFM.

Master's degree in Clinical Trial Management and Coordination

The Master's degree in Clinical Trial Management and Coordination, approved in January 2024, began teaching in September with a first group of 24 students of different nationalities.

This is a unique program created to train new professional profiles of excellence that support healthcare professionals and the institutions and companies involved, in order to respond to the high existing demand and carry out trials with the best quality standards.

The most distinctive feature of the VHIR master's degree proposals is that they are taught entirely in the environment of a first-level tertiary hospital, the Vall d'Hebron Campus, a leader in conducting both clinical trials and biomedical research, where the patient is always the first and last objective.

Master's degree in Continuing Education Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This is a unique program, taught entirely in English and created to train new professional profiles, entrepreneurial profiles and specialists in the management of innovation and entrepreneurship in health.

The master's degree is aimed at fostering the ability to create new solutions that impact the health system based on the generation of knowledge and the development of new products, technologies and services.

In the event that the available places are exhausted in one of the established resolution periods, pre-registration will be automatically closed and subsequent periods will not be opened.

Information sessions

In addition, and as every year, the VHIR will participate in the virtual master's, postgraduate and doctoral fair, offering several information sessions on its programs, where future students can ask any questions they may have regarding aspects related to the master's degrees.
