Research institutes from the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) published more than 3,000 articles in 2012

VHIR published 727 papers with an average impact factor of 5.42

The Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) has published in its "http://www.gencat.cat/ics/infocorp/memoria2012/ICS2012i/HTML/index.html#43/z" Annual Report 2012the papers that the 7 institutes of research associated with public hospitals published last year. Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) is in the second position of the ranking with 727 papers, a total impact factor of 3,943.50 and an average impact factor of 5,42.All in all, the 7 institutes published 3,071 articles in scientific publications with a total impact factor of 13,616.34, which is 9.32% more than last year. The impact factor assesses the relevance of an article regarding the citations which has received in a short period of time. The first position in the ranking is for Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), with 933 papers, followed in the third position by Health Sciences Research Institute of the “Germans Trias i Pujol” Foundation (IGTP), with 528. According to ICS, the greatest virtue of these research institutes is their close connection to the hospital and their commitment to find solutions to health problems from the field of biomedical research.
