Dr. Ferran Morell, head of the Pneumolgy group at Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and president of SEPAR congress, is interviewed in this Thursday edition of the Spanish newspaper 'La Vanguardia'.Asked about who funds research in Spain, Dr. Morell describes how doctors are always trying to raise money from clinical trials, official calls and courses: "Research is mostly sustained by the effort of professionals and private donations".In the interview, VHIR’s researcher explains how things have changed since 1987. "When I returned from the USA, where I studied the epidemic of asthma caused by soya in Barcelona, our hospital only had 16m2 to investigate with animals. Nowadays we are more than 1,000 researches with good facilities", reports.
