SensePor association donates €8,780 for predoctoral grants in Vall d’Hebron

The association has raised euros7,800 for the Amics de Vall d'Hebron Predoctoral Grants Program and euros980 for the 'Solidarity Kerchief' campaign that promotes women's cancer research.

The other one, worth euros980, will help this year's 'Solidarity Kerchief' campaign which aims to advance women's cancer treatments and improve patients' quality of life.On the one hand, SensePor donated euros7,800 raised through the sale of sweatshirts online. The donation will help the Amics de Vall d'Hebron Predoctoral Grants Program, a grant from the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) that aims to provide opportunities for young researchers to develop their projects in basic and clinical research. they can open new lines of research to find new therapies and improve treatments and diagnosis of diseases. Thanks to these grants, researchers carry out their doctoral thesis for three years in any of the VHIR research groups.On the other hand, SensePor also support with euros980 the 'Solidarity Kerchief' campaign, in which Anna Altimiras, president of the association, who already participated by providing her testimony as a patient who overcame breast cancer. In this case, the collection was made through the sale of solidarity calendars.https://mocadorsolidari.vallhebron.com/ 'Solidarity Kerchief' is an initiative promoted by Vall d'Hebron with the collaboration of Natura, which is responsible for producing and distributing the kerchief in its stores and online, and donates all the profits from the sale of these kerchiefs supporting women's cancer research through funding from two predoctoral researchers from the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO)."Personally, I feel very close to Vall d'Hebron and I think that the work that is done there to improve people's lives is very important. "Anna and the association she chairs, SensePor, are a clear example of the importance of citizen participation in driving research. In 2020, it supported research into COVID-19 in Vall d'Hebron with the organization of telematic and free activities, such as workshops and concerts, thanks to which they raised euros1,393 through the Migranodearena platform.SensePorSensePor is a solidarity group formed by a group of friends, set up as a non-profit association, based in Berguedà. Initially, SensePor was a day of activities that took place in Puig-reig (Berguedà) to raise funds for the 2018 Marató de TV3 dedicated to cancer. Thanks to the success of that day, it was decided to turn SensePor into a solidarity association in very different causes, both in the field of health and research, as well as others of a social, environmental, etc. nature.
