The Spanish Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases grants a fellowship to researchers at VHIR

UPIIP members and the Infection in Immunocompromised Pediatric Patients took an important part in the meeting that tool place in Valencia

The http://www.seipweb.es/ Spanish Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases (SEIP, from its Catalan acronym) has awarded a grant to the project 'Metabolomics in neonatal infection by cytomegalovirus', led by researchers from the research group of Infection in Immunocompromised Paediatric Patients of the Vall d'hebron Research Institute (VHIR). The study will be conducted in the Infectious Pathology and Paediatric Immunodeficiencies Unit (UPIIP) of the Vall d'hebron University Hospital, in conjunction with the service of Microbiology and other centres throughout the State.The grant, endowed with 3,000 euros, was awarded at the VIII Congress of the SEIP, in which researchers of Vall d'Hebron had an important presence. All participated actively with three talks that gathered the expertise of the unit in fields as varied as tuberculosis, infection in the child severely immunocompromised and the critical patient, as part of the various discussions of the meeting. In addition, they presented an oral communication and a total of 10 posters, counting the multi-centre studies. Finally, of the five papers of young researchers of the Congress, two were presented by Dr. JM Valle and Dr. Isabel Vives, members of the research group.The congress took place in Valencia on 3, 4 and 5 March.
