The Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) have renewed their collaboration agreement with Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub, which was first established in 2023, to continue driving the digital transformation of the healthcare sector. The agreement enables both institutions to share knowledge, experience, and capabilities to foster the development and adoption of innovative digital health solutions.

The collaboration will help advance the creation of an integrated process to streamline and standardise the validation, testing, and implementation of products and technologies developed by emerging companies. Likewise, Vall d’Hebron and Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub will work together on defining common procedures for the evaluation of medical and healthcare technologies, with the aim of accelerating their integration into the healthcare system and addressing the needs of the association’s members.

Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub is a private non-profit association that promotes innovation in the field of digital health and brings together startups, companies, investors, universities, and public and private organisations linked to the sector. Its ecosystem facilitates connections among all these stakeholders, encourages the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and promotes new collaboration opportunities to accelerate the development and implementation of innovative health solutions.

For its part, the Vall d’Hebron Campus brings to this alliance its experience as an international reference centre in research, healthcare, innovation, and technology transfer in the field of health sciences. Thanks to a unique environment that integrates clinical professionals, researchers, patients, and companies, the Campus provides a space for co-creation, validation, and implementation of new technologies in a real healthcare setting. This capacity enables the assessment of the impact of digital solutions in clinical practice, facilitates their transfer, and ensures they deliver real value for both healthcare professionals and patients.
