This health centre is located in Cubal, a small village in Angola, a place where, after decades of war, the population have one of the world's worst health indicators due to the great malnutrition prevalence. In fact, immune system weakness increases the risk of suffering infectious diseases. Those diagnosed with tuberculosis, one of the most extended illnesses of this area, stay hospitalized for several months, becoming part of the centre's daily life.Nossa Senhora da Paz's Hospital offers medical coverage to 250.000 people, most of all to patients with infectious diseases, which represent the first cause of hospitalization. Recently, VHIR, Probitas foundation and this Angolan medical centre signed an agreement to send resources to improve the hospital laboratory and give training courses to the local staff.
