The repository allows scientific production to be accessible to all citizens.

All institutions that publish scientific production funded by European or other public entities (such as H2020, PERIS, PADRIS, AES, etc.) must do it on open access. To meet this new need, the Ministry of Health has designed the open repository of scientific production Scientia, in which the Vall d'Hebron Campus is already a leader in publication of research studies, scientific articles, posters, conference papers, clinical practice guides, etc. On January 31st, 2020, the Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus has 145 documents uploaded. 130 of these documents are from the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. 61 are from the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), 16 from the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), and 3 of them from the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of Catalonia (Cemcat). The articles are signed by 174 authors of Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, who have authorized that their entire publication becomes incorporated gradually into the repository. The dissemination is complemented by the publication of the article on social networks (@BibliotecaHUVH) with the hashtag #ScientiaVH.An event to unveil the platformTo present the novelty to all the authors of the Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, on January 31st, an event was held in the General Hospital Conference Room, promoted by VHIR and the Vall d'Hebron Library.According to Cristina Puyal, head of the Library, this change "allows scientific production to be accessible to all citizens, unlike the previous model in which it was only published in scientific journals and only its subscribers could read it." Núria Gavaldà, Strategy Director at VHIR, explains that "with Scientia we can make research more accessible within the framework of responsible research and innovation. VHIR, as a driving force behind research at the Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, is decisively involved in implementing measures to move towards a more open science, and to organize and lead this new framework for work with new resources, recommendations and guides.
