08/11/2018 VHIR and Clubotel La Dorada sign an agreement to promote research on immune disorders related to pregnancy 08/11/2018 This agreement aims to promote the research projects carried out within the line of research in Immune Disorders related to Gestation, developed by Dr. Jaume Alijotas Reig. The Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and Clubotel La Dorada, a company that belongs to the Ona Hotels Group and which is dedicated to the administration and management of tourist apartments and hotels, have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting the research projects carried out within the line of research in Immune Disorders related to Gestation, developed by Dr. Jaume Alijotas Reig.Clubotel La Dorada has made a donation of 40,000 euros to the VHIR that will be used to conduct different projects included in the aforementioned line of research and will be developed by Dr. Alijotas and the members of his team. Among these projects, we should mention the creation of the European register of obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome, the recurrent implant failure and its association with antiphospholipid antibodies and cellular microparticles, the massive proteomic analysis of human seminal plasma to uncover biomarkers involved in the generation of immunological tolerance against paternal antigens, the angiogenic factors during pregnancy and the cardiovascular risk in the medium and long term in patients with preeclampsia-a clinical and experimental approach and the relation of vaginal microbiota to female infertility.Similarly, this economic contribution can also be used to develop research projects that, despite being different from the previous ones, are included in the same line of research.Dr. Alijotas is a member of the Internal Medicine Service at Vall d'Hebron Hospital, professor of the Department of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and researcher at the http://en.vhir.org/portal1/grup-equip.asp?s=recerca&contentid=187043 Systemic Diseases group at VHIR. He is also the coordinator of the Monographic Unit "Recurrent Abortion and Reproductive Immunology", affiliated to the Maternal and Fetal Medicine Unit of the Obstetrics Service at the Hospital and of the European project "Obstetric Antiphospholipid Syndrome Registry" (EUROAPS / EUROMAP).
