26/04/2011 VHIR and Fenexy cooperate in the healing of spinal injuries 26/04/2011 Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR) and Fenexy Foundation, aiming to cure spinal cord injuries, have signed an agreement for which VHIR will be part of the Scientific Committee of Fenexy, represented by its director, Dr. Joan Comella. On April 14, a delegation of Fenexy visited VHIR and spinal cord injury unit at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. During the meeting, attended by Dr. Miguel Ángel González Viejo, Dr. Amparo Cuxart, Dr. Pilar Lusilla, Dr. José Luis Peiró and Dr. Mario Marotta, the agreement was discussed and VHIR researchers presented some of the research projects that relate to the treatment of acute traumatic spinal cord injuries: new experimental stem cell therapies, pilot study of growth hormone (GH treatment), effectiveness of psycho-emotional support, and rehabilitation gaming system 4 stroke (RGS4). After the meeting, Carlos Alcolea, founder and president of Fenexy, Guillem Samaniego, director of the foundation, and Simon Muñoz, head of events, visited the spinal injuries unit accompanied by Dr. Miguel Ángel González Viejo.
