30/12/2010 VHIR begins to develop the 2011-2015 Strategic Plan 30/12/2010 On 20 and 22 December took place at Hotel Alimara of Barcelona the first meetings aimed to develope the 2011-2015 Strategic Plan of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). During the first day worked groups formed by the direction of the hospital and the Research Institute, members of the Internal Scientific Committee, heads of research groups and some key heads of hospital departments. In the second days as well as hospital and Institute management, also worked the External Scientific Committee members, representatives of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Catalonian Health Department, DIUE, Catalan Institute of Health, VHIO, CERCA, CSIC, i BIOCAT and Research Institute Jordi Gol.During the two days, with morning and afternoon sessions, were presented first by groups and then all together the conclusions of what has been done related to the present Strategic Plan, and an analysis of the current situation, which is the point heading towards the construction of the new. The meeting identified several strengths of VHIR made in recent years that placed the Institute ub a good position to face the future, but also were deteced some issues to improve, internal and external, which can be applied to the new plan. The sessions were very participatory and very satisfactory results to help define the strategy for the coming years.From the findings will produce a document that will be the starting point for drafting the new plan. All members of the Institute have the opportunity to participate in different stages of the implementation of the process to make their vision and enrich the roadmap of what should be the future of VHIR.
