VHIR highlights in the presentation of the 13th promotion of the Miguel Servet program

On March 15 took place the presentation of the 13th promotion of the Miguel Servet program, that of the 2010 call, at the headquarters of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) in Madrid. During the ceremony, in addition to the authorities of the ministry, participated Dr. Joan Comella, director of Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR), who presented this research institute as an example Miguel Servet researchers in a R&D center of the Spanish National Health System (SNS). Miguel Servet program allows the addition of full-time research staff at the centers of the SNS. VHIR has three investigators in this call, Dr. Maria Vicario, member of gastrointestinal physiology and pathophysiology, Dr. Andreas Doll, from the Unit of translational biomedical research and pediatric oncology, and Dr. Trond Aasen, from the Molecular pathology group.Dr. Vicario said that "with few opportunities in Spain to investigate at high-level, the program Miguel Servet seems the most attractive way and offers more continuity in biomedical research."Dr. Antoni Andreu, Head of the Neuromuscular and Mitochondrial Diseases Research Group at VHIR and Ccordinator of the Technical Evaluation Committee of the Miguel Servet program, moderated the panel discussion following the presentation.
