VHIR opens the pre-enrolment for the 3rd edition of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Translational Research

12 students from the first edition are currently working as researchers at the Institute.

The Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) has just opened the pre-enrolment for the 2016/2017 course of the 3rd edition of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Translational Research, affiliated to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Coinciding with the preregistration, the master has launched a new website: http://master.vhir.org/?lang=en master.vhir.org. The new site is easier and more dynamic, and contains all the information about the master, and the pre-enrolment and admission processes. Once again, 50 vacancies are offered to attend this official course that has become one of the most prestigious in the field of health care research in Spain.The master has already had over eighty students (37 of the first edition and 48 of the second), interested in acquiring knowledge and competences to work for improving tomorrow's medicine. Most of them, 65, did or are still doing their internship at VHIR, and 12 of them from the first edition are already working as researchers in any of the 60 groups of the Institute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy8Z2gKiPkU Some of them talked about their experience on this video.The master is addressed to research career, provides access to PhD studies and brings students the opportunity to choose the area or biomedicine in which they want to specialize and develop their career. The main feature of this master programme is that takes place in a research institute recognized as Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, an organism depending of the Spanish Government. All the classes are given at VHIR by basic, clinical researchers and medical doctors who are in continuous contact with patients.The pre-enrolment process is divided in three periods. Candidates will receive the resolution by email, following the period defined.1st period: from the 15th of February to the 30th of April. The resolution is expected for the 13th of May. During the following week, students will be notified.2nd period: from the 1st of May to the 30th of June. The resolution is expected for the 15th of July. During the following week, students will be notified.3rd period: from the 1st of July to the 15th of September. The resolution is expected for the 22nd of September. During the following week, students will be notified. Any of the periods can be closed if the number of applicants is higher than the number of vacancies. Finally, once again, several entities will cover all the enrolment taxes to, at least, the best 5 applicants.
