VHIR researchers present in Berlin the latest advances in abdominal distention

The Physiology and Pathophysiology of the Digestive Tract group have participated in the UEG week

Researchers from the Physiology and Pathophysiology of the Digestive Tract group at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR), led by Dr. Fernando Azpiroz, presented on Wednesday in the "http://www.ueg.eu/" United European Gastroenterology Week (UEG Week)the latest studies in the origin of abdominal distention.Dr. Anna Accarino was the speaker of the study "http://uegw.congress-online.com/guest/AbstractView?ABSID=4139" “New insights into the pathophysiology of functional GI disorders”, which concluded that the origin is muscular and may be the thorax, rather than the abdomen. On Monday, Dr. Azpiroz was the chairman of a symposium about the "http://uegw.congress-online.com/guest/SciProgramSessionsList?SSN_ID=534" pathogenesis of functional GI disorders, regarding lifestyle and nutrition, and Dr. María Vicario presented the poster entitled "http://uegw.congress-online.com/guest/AbstractView?ABSID=4617" “Female gender favors gut proinflammatory responses to stress”.More than 14,000 basic and clinical scientists from over 120 countries participated in the UEG Week, hosted in Berlin (Germany) from the 12th to 16 of October, with the aim to provide an international forum to present the latest research in digestive and liver diseases.
