13/05/2011 VHIR's CIBBIM-Nanomedicine participates in the alliance BioNanoMed Catalunya 13/05/2011 Research Center for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Nanomedicine (CIBBIM-Nanomedicine) of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is one of the 18 entities -centers, hospitals and Catalan companies- that do research in nanotechnology applied to health and biotechnology in Catalonia that have created the alliance BioNanoMed Catalunya. This is the first Catalan platform of bionanomedicine born to create synergy and help new research opportunities and business in this sector and increase the international visibility of the work of the entities within it.Nanobiomedicine, one of the strengths of research in Catalonia, has been a pioneer in Spain in the creation of centers focused on multidisciplinary integration of nano and biotechnology, and now are international benchmarks, such as VHIR's CIBBIM-Nanomedicine, the Catalan Institute of Nanotechnology (ICN), the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and the Research Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CIN2). Currently, there are 37 research groups registered in various centers and universities in Catalonia. And, according to data collected by the National Library of Medicine ot the United States (PubMed) belonging to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Barcelona is the second largest city of the world according to scientific publications on nanomedicine, after Boston.More info: http://www.bionanomedcat.org Research Center for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Nanomedicine (CIBBIM-Nanomedicine) of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is one of the 18 entities -centers, hospitals and Catalan companies- that do research in nanotechnology applied to health and biotechnology in Catalonia that have created the alliance BioNanoMed Catalunya.
