VHIR's director participates in the 5th Annual Conference of the Technological Platforms of Biomedical Research

The director of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), Dr. Joan Comella, has participated in 5th Annual Conference of the Technological Platforms of Biomedical Research: Innovative Medicines, Nanomedicina, Sanitary Technology and Biotechnological Markets, Promoting the Open Innovation held in Barcelona on February 14 and 15 at Hotel Fira Palace.Dr. Comella has been one of the speakers of the round table 'To promote the cooperation Farma-Biotech-Academia', held on February 15 attended by 500 people. Moderated by Javier Urzay (Farmaindustria), and introduced by Amelia Martín Uranga (Farmaindustria), with the presentation 'Advances in the Program Farma-Biotech', also with the participation of Xavier Berthet (Lacer), Ramón Frexes (Janssen-Cilag), Clara Engroba (Sanofi Aventis), Miquel Ángel Bonachera (AB-Biotics), Carlos Buesa (Oryzon Genomics) and Marisol Quintero (CNIO).In his intervention, Dr. Comella explained VHIR's model of Innovation based on the collaboration with the industry in initial states of the valuation of the research guaranteeing with it the approach to the market, financing for the development and the implication of the industry in the commercialization. In addition, he defended a holistic model that integrates the whole chain of value of the health system including industry, primary and tertiary. Finally, he alluded to the importance of approaching actions of awareness, formation and combined management of industry-public research center to obtain a best practice to attract financing and business.
