VHIR's innovation unit participates in a conference on business opportunities in the health sector

The innovation unit at Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) played an important role in the conference 'Business Opportunities in the health sector', held at Club Cecot Innovation and Technology on November 3rd in Terrassa, Barcelona. The day began with the presentation of Valentí Sallés, president of Club Cecot, and the conference 'The health sector as an economic boost factor', offered by Ramon Maspons, director of the Strategic Projects Unit at Biocat.Then Francesc Iglesias, VHIR's director of innovation, moderated a panel discussion where were presented four cases of success and good practice. One of the cases presented was from VHIR. Raquel Egea, coordinator of the Valuation and Transfer Unit, explained a new system of control and traceability in the production of medical preparations, with an efficiency that has already saved a million euros in the first year. The other three case studies were explained by Manel Balcells, director of the Knowledge of Terrassa Health Consortium, Maria Emilia Gil, attached to the General Direction of Mutua Terrasasa, and Gloria Palomar, managing director of the Park Taulí Foundation in Sabadell.
