27/09/2010 VHIR's researchers develop a test to detect prostate cancer 27/09/2010 VHIR's researchers Marina Rigau, Andreas Doll and Jaume Reventós, together with Dr. Joan Morote, responsible of the Urology Service, have developed a test to improve the early detection of prostate cancer from an urine analysis. The test has determined in approximately two hundred men who came to the hospital with the suspicion that they could have prostate cancer. In this group of patients, the test has distinguished accurately those that have cancer of those that don't have it, reported Jaume Reventós, chief of the unit of Biomedical Investigation of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute.
