Xavier Prats, General Director for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission visited during this morning the facilities of Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and then gave a lecture on "The state of health in Europe" in which he gave an overview of how technology and demographic changes are radically transforming our societies and what impact they will have on medicine and health care systems in European countries.In gratitude for his visit, he has received from the hands of Dr. Vicenç Martínez, Manager of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Dr. Anna Ochoa Echagüen, Asistencial Director of Barcelona Vall d'Hebron Hospital and Sr. Francesc Iglesias, Assistant Manager of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, a lithograph depicting one of the winning images VHIR's Scientific Photography Contest.
