Commercial and Contracted Clinical Research Directorate The area offers support services for commercial clinical research, which are provided by the different units of the VHIR. On the one hand, it assists the clinical research teams of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (HUVH) that participate in clinical trials. On the other hand, it offers support to those companies or organizations that are interested in initiating clinical trials at HUVH. The services offered are, among others, the following: The search for opportunities to establish strategic commercial deals. Analysis of market trends in the development of new drugs or medical devices. Support during the selection and contractual management of a clinical trial. Management of incidents during the development of trials. Monitoring the satisfaction of clinical teams and sponsors. The generation and use of metrics and indicators to measure the performance and design strategies. Dissemination and contact with the public to share and make available the results of this field of health research. As mentioned above, the area also offers support to those companies interested in launching clinical trials at HUVH, to help them contact and interact with outstanding research teams, with extensive experience in the area of clinical trials. The primary objective of this Unit is the assistance in the internal evaluation of the capabilities of the clinical teams to highlight the talent of the HUVH professionals; in the formation and implementation of quality systems in clinical research to meet the most demanding standards that make the Campus VH a national and international benchmark; in the continuous dialogue with pharmaceutical companies to detect opportunities in the development of new drugs or in other areas such as new materials or medical devices; and in the support in the stages of selection of centers and contract negotiation and signature. This strategic vision makes Campus VH a leading player in the commercially sponsored clinical trials scene. The proactive management of information enables more opportunities to arrive, to come sooner, or to bring value-added proposals, the latest innovations, those of greater complexity and those involving cutting-edge medicine. This model is developed through the following actions: Maintain communication of trust and cooperation with the clinical teams, in order to detect high-value and attractive abilities in the market of new drug development. Establish a continuous, transparent, and rigorous dialogue with private sector companies to sign strategic collaborative development partnerships. The primary objective of this Unit is to contribute to the consolidation of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital as an international leading center in the execution of clinical trials. Therefore, the strategic actions are directed towards the optimal development and implementation of the management model for clinical trials at the VH campus. A model that aims to ensure high-quality clinical trials, with active participation of patients, and that generates opportunities for both campus researchers and the entire life sciences ecosystem in general. This model will be developed through the following actions: Facilitate task execution and communication between the different professionals involved in clinical trials. Ensure standardization and continuous compliance of tasks and procedures, and offer permanent advice to clinical trial support staff (Study Coordinator, Date Entry, Study Nurse...).
