For this reason, in recent years there has been a growing interest in having biological samples of human origin from various pathologies. In order to regulate the correct collection, storage and use of biological samples of human origin and to promote their use in biomedical research following appropriate ethical and scientific practices, the Biomedical Research Law (Law 14/2007 of July 3, 2007, on Biomedical Research) was approved and subsequently, the Royal Decree 1716/2011 on the development of the Biomedical Research Law.
