My name is Alejandro Mediavilla Pérez and I am part of the microbiology service at Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron. My job position is that of a researcher and pre-doctoral student in tropical infectious diseases, more specifically in the field of parasitology. Currently, my doctoral thesis focuses on the diagnosis of malaria using molecular methods and genomic characterization of Plasmodium spp.

Passionate about biological sciences and research. I define myself as an outgoing and curious person. I have a degree in biology and a master's degree in research in molecular biology and genetics. I have been part of hydraulic, food safety and microbiology laboratories, gaining extensive experience in the field of scientific research.
