Multiple pregnancy

Multiple gestations are at greater risk of preterm delivery than singletons and the risk increase with the number of fetuses. The duration of a triplet pregnancy averages 32-34 weeks gestacion. Although the perinatal mortality rate of multi-fetal gestations have improved, neonatal complications as perinatal morbidity, neurologic disabilities or other serious handicaps increase from singletons to higher orders of multiplicity.
