Research lines Application of MRI imaging to the study of Parkinson's disease The aim of the line is to evaluate the added value of the information provided by MRI techniques, mainly aimed at the evaluation of melanin, myelin, presence of Fe, structural and functional connectivity in the study of Parkinson’s disease. IP: Fco. Javier Aymerich Martínez, Alex Rovira Cañellas Synthetic Imaging: Assessing its value in healthcare practice The aim of the line is to evaluate synthetic MR images compared to conventional images to consider its use in healthcare protocols. IP: Fco. Javier Aymerich Martínez, Alex Rovira Cañellas Quantitative analysis of MR images: image analysis and software development This line is focused on the analysis of magnetic resonance images for quantification purposes. To do it, we combine the use of tools designed for this purpose with software specifically designed for this purpose in our group. The work of this line is the result of the application of computer vision techniques, image processing, pattern recognition and fuzzy logic to the analysis of magnetic resonance images. Some areas of interest are the measurement of lesion features, and the quantification of iron in SWI weighted images. IP: Fco.
