My name is Laura Gisbert Gustemps. I graduated in medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1999 and later specialized in psychiatry at the Parc Taulí Health Corporation. After finishing my residency, I spent some time working in community child psychiatry and later, in 2017, I joined full-time (I had previously been involved in research projects) at the Vall d'Hebron Campus Hospital.

I have a degree in medicine and surgery from the UAB and a doctorate in psychiatry from the same University. I obtained the extraordinary doctoral award with my thesis entitled "Emotional Instability in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder" which I defended in 2019. Recently I have obtained the recognition of double specialization, both in adult psychiatry as in childhood and adolescent psychiatry and I am secretary of the Board of the Catalan Society of Child and Youth Psychiatry. I combine the care and research activity with the teaching activity at the UAB and since May 2022 I have been tutoring residents in my specialty.

Since I finished my residency in 2011, I have been very focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, especially Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

In my day-to-day life I coordinate the Integral Care Program for the Autistic Spectrum of the hospital's psychiatry service from which we combine clinical and research activity in order to advance the knowledge and care of this group and their families.
