Fetal Tissue Bank The collection consists of frozen fetal tissue samples obtained from different stages of embryonic and fetal development (gestational weeks 8-22). The samples come from fetuses from the Program of Legal Termination of Pregnancy of the Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron. The donations are from control fetuses (normal morphological development), or from fetuses with various diseases among which are heart diseases, bone disorders, Central Nervous System disorders, nephrourological alterations, trisomies and other chromosomal abnormalities. Generic informed consent Informed consent to use samples for the study of the molecular basis of human prenatal development, and for the characterization of syndromes and malformations of fetal origin, in order to contribute to improved understanding, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of these syndromes and malformations.
