Dr. Patricia Pozo, Dr. Cristina Saura, Dr. Marta Ribasés and Estefania Anguita, a pre-doctoral researcher, give their thoughts about women as scientists.

Bet on the opportunities presented, motivation to achieve the goals and empowerment in order to access the responsible positions in hospitals and research centers. These are the messages that they convey in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1-0uU4VHWM video, to celebrate the International Women's Day, Dr. Patricia Pozo Rosich, Head of the Headache Unit of Vall d'Hebron, Head of the Headache and Neurological Pain Research Group at VHIR and head of the Migraine Adaptive Brain Center, Dr. Cristina Saura, Head of the Breast Unit of the Oncology Service and principal investigator of the VHIO Breast Cancer Research Group, Dr. Marta Ribasés, principal investigator of the VHIR Psychiatry, Mental Health and Addiction Research Group, and Estefania Anguita, a doctoral researcher in the VHIR Biomedical Research in Digestive Tract Tumors Group. "Sometimes I have felt that I have had opportunities that I have decided to give up because my career was growing at the same time as my personal and family life," says Dr. Cristina Saura. "Opportunities are there and we have to decide if we want to bet on them.""It's true that the charge of responsibility in research centers and hospitals is mostly men's," says Dr. Marta Ribasés. "But what we women have to do is empower ourselves and introduce ourselves to the places at which we are fully capable of", she says."I wish there were more girls in the future hoping to get a job like mine. Working on something you love is the first motivation you get for what you set out to do," reflects Dra. Patricia Pozo-Rosich. As a pre-doctoral student and a new generation member, Estefania Anguita has observed that women are more in this career stage, "but when you look up, the number of boys is higher, and the number of girls is decreasing."
