"These are centres of reference in multiple disciplines, such as oncohematology, speciality that I had had to know closely", that's why, "I intend to bring my bit in research and the training of future professionals working to diagnose diseases in least aggressive manner possible, improving the quality of life of patients." A life of talesThe eight paintings that can be seen in Vall d'Hebron are large format works of surrealist figurative style, painted with acrylic paint and inspired by the characters of the classic children's stories. Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White or the Pied Piper of Hamelin are some of the protagonists. It will also be available to be seen the Amantes voladores de Carnaval (Flying lovers of Carnival), the work that Ramírez presented to the Reus Carnival posters contest.Toni Ramírez started in the world of painting in 2010, in a self-taught way. He did so after being diagnosed with cancer. The act of painting became a therapy, inspired by authors such as Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani or Fernando Botero, with a clear intention to decontextualize the characters and the viewers.
